Bearded Academic Drawings
Our theme today is 19th C. academic drawings, and we start with one my source
described as by F. Diem. A work by the same artist will appear later today.
Wow, Jerry.. As you would expect, these resonate so much with me. This tiny, torn work is rather beautiful. Not just as a reference, you can see that the model has begun to slump, slightly. Keeping his right wrist on his sloping thigh, not easy. Head getting heavy. The life studio, real deal. One point about bearded models. They can throw some artist, not used to drawing them. Sometimes this generates a spontaneous "how to draw beards " tutorial. Fascinating for the model.

ReplyDeleteThanks, as always, for the fascinating details from your presonal perspective. I love the tutorial concept!
