Just the Painting
The entire painting is hard to photograph, and this is the best I could do to fit it all in.
Believe it or not, I first discovered the existence of this painting and legend while you were recently on vacation. I was doing some research on the novels of the late Michael Crichton, and "Eaters of the Dead" (1972) led me to "Midvinterblot." It feels weird that it has come back to me so soon on your blog.

I couldn't agree more, but that appears to be where Larsson intended it to be.
