19th Century Artists Study Photos


Kicking off Friday art day with some 19th C. artists' study photos.
This one is by Hermann Heid, a photographer whose work sometimes is confused with that of Igout.

  1. Delightful pose, especially the placing of the hands. The unusual position of the right foot stabilises the pose. I often use this ruse.

    1. That's interesting. It seems like the positioning of the feet would be awkward, but I defer to your experience.

    2. I just tried it...Putting the foot there shifts the weight to his left. That allows the position of the left arm over he head to be stable..I enjoy working these out..
