The last segment of the magazine has some obligatory ads flanked by some more luscious color photos, culminatilng with what I think is a closing derriere view of Brian idon and his blond friend.
Many thanks again to jstrand for donating these and many othe fine magazine scans.
Can't wait to get into this in detail! Thanks, JStrand and Jerry! BigDude

You're welcome, Nick!
DeleteAww, man! For a second there I got all excited that they may have finally provided names for 2 models we enthusiasts just cannot trace (from the large group photo). I'm talking about RT#1 'Dave and Roy' We know that the guy on the right is Jim Barckley, so immediately we know Dave and Roy are meaningless aliases. Sigh. Same goes for RT#4, we were hoping to get a name for the guy lifting Jim Giussi (called Bill here, if we presume a left to right naming convention). Nevertheless, thanks Jerry and JStrand for this lovely series.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, Brian! W&B did not put any effort into naming the models, at least in this early edition. The ads, however, needed a way to pitch the guys, so at least there's that.
DeleteJIM GIUSSI was lifted by JOE CYR in RT#4. There is no record at the BMF of them posing together. However, JOE CYR posed solo on that roof, so GIUSSI must have showed up on the same day. It is an Interesting photo as it was not like Bob Mizer to put such tall and short Models together. JOE CYR was a long time friend of Bob Mizer and he looked older than most AMG models as he aged. CYR first modeld for Mizer in 1961 and was youthful and handsome. By 1967 CYR did not look at all like he had in 1961 and most people can not recognize him. The aging process was very harsh for CYR who may have had an illness during that time.
DeleteJOE CYR was a Canadian and made at least 5 AMG short films for Bob Mizer.
PS Brian Idol's blond friend is Jim Horn.
ReplyDeleteI should have known that. Thanks!
DeleteJust back from a few days of sun, sand ,fresh air and clothing optional freedom. Seeing this makes me want to go back! Maybe next week. Lol. Thanks Jerry.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome, and I'm glad you had a nice getaway.
DeleteIt is a wonderful place, primarily gay. But with the changing political climate leaning toward ultra conservative I wonder for how long.
DeleteWe can only do what we can and hope for the best.
DeleteWyngate & Bevins sure knew their business. Their outdoor pix were taken at Homeland, Hemet, Romoland ( a one time biker hangout) and Ramona. Looks like the roof pix were taken at Bob Mizer’s compound on 11th Street….:)
ReplyDeleteYes, they did. And I agree about the Mizer location.
