Costume

I can't figure out what the headwear and scarf are about in this shot Mr. Rocco took
outside the Paramount Studios main gate, but it's probably part
of a project I'll describe a bit more in a later post today.

  1. The model's nice, but the costuming is "different."

    1. Right. The scarf makes me think of Isadora Duncan's demise.

  2. Back then you could get away with this type of guerrilla photography with a citation and fine, today you would be charged with a sex crime and have to register as a sex offender. My how we’ve become more regressive than progressive since that time….:\

    1. What you say is true. In fact, a lot of people in LA back then wouldn't have batted an eye over such matters.

  3. Stripper/actress Liz Renay streaked down Hollywood Blvd. in 1974 and everyone loved it. Different time. I loved NY before it became sanitized and Walt Disneized. Lol.

    1. I went to New York half a dozen times in the 70s and early 80s. Different world. My favorite spot was GG's Barnum Room where they had a Puerto
Rican trapeze act perfoming over the dance floor. I think they were called the Flying Disco Bats. They looked utterly bored and smoked weed and unfiltered Camels between sets.

    2. OMG! I have not thought of that place in years! Between that and the Garage and Uncle Charlie's. That's the NYC I remember and loved.

  4. It seemed streaking was everywhere in the 70’s and it wasn’t a big deal.
In 2013 a 15 year-old kid streaked at a football game at his high school in Alabama and was charged with a sex crime, the poor kid committed suicide.
How attitudes have changed and not in a good way.:(

  5. Well, the headgear would appear to be a small brimmed white hat with a pair of goggles over the top-front part… And the white scarf would lead me to believe he’s trying to look like an early 20th century horseless carriage driver, but he doesn’t have a traveling coat or driving gloves which would have rounded out his costume…

    1. I think you're right about the intent of the costume design.
