The final photo in today's AMG duo series features John Hadnagy and Don Hawksley
in jockstraps on what looks like yet another version of Bob Mizer's rooftop set or sets.
Hadnagy and Hawksley posed together on several shoots, but I believe these stills to be publicity pictures advertising a film of them wrestling by AMG. As I remember, the backdrop and ground covering are the same. I did have this film in my archive but unfortunately, my present set-up won't play it. Apparently, Bob Mizer had to cut several sections of the film because their contortions exposed too much pubic hair beneath their posing straps and he was worried about potential prosecution. Hence the jockstraps in this image. That possibly explains the rather jerky aspect of the continuity. Yes, it was that bad in those days. That would be unlikely these days, as the younger lads seem to prefer a short back and sides. Hair today, gone tomorrow, hairstyles come and go... I blame George Bush.
Now that you mention it, this definitely looks like a wrestling scene. Mizer's movies were not known for their technical or dramatic quality, but the customers must not have cared. It was basically all one could get at the time, although there were a few other producers working then. Their quality wasn't much better, if at all.
I could gawk at The Hawk for hours on end, jock or no jock. Hadnagy is easy to fantasize about, too.
