These men are cadets in training to be pilots at the Naval Air Station at Corpus Christi, Texas in 1942.  The man at center is an instructor for the physical fitness element of their training.

  1. You can tell these guys were OCS (officers candidate school) by their better than average haircuts. The enlisted guys got the awful buzz cuts. That's how you could usually tell the officers from the enlisted was the officers almost always had the noticeable better grooming. The Navy and Air Force always prided themselves as being noticeably better groomed than the Army and Marines.
