Creation
This looks like a creation scene stolen from the Sistine Chapel or some such.
It does look like the photographer was mimicking the Sistine Chapel. But the penis here is bigger than Adam's, and not consistent with the ideal penis of the classical era and the Renaissance.
Beautifully posed. Another "lanky" man? Regards his penis. Perhaps just his natural "hang" or expansion on the day? When doing reclining poses, there's the issue of penis placement. If one is "classically" proportioned, it will stay neatly between one's legs. Larger, or slight engorgement can cause it to drape down on to a leg, which can look less aesthetically pleasing. Here, a good balance is achieved.

ReplyDeleteCorrect. See fqmorris' comment below.
DeleteRenaissance painting and sculpture penises were always undersized. I think it was a strategy to avoid opposition.

When did penises become offensive?
And who covered them up?
That's a very good point. Thanks!
DeleteHe's waiting for Walt Whitman to pull his finger!
ReplyDeleteOr pull that other finger
ReplyDeleteErnest Raynaud, turn of the century French writer, poet, and when rather more formally attired, police commissioner.
ReplyDeleteThank you! And thanks for the private messages you sent, too.

ReplyDeleteYes, lanky would seem to apply. Thanks for the interesting details about the package issue.
DeleteI've actually had to "adjust" myself. I got a "that's better"...
