I think this fellow is trying to stay cool in front of the window fan.
This sort of calls to mind some of those Playboy spreads where a naked female wearing a graduation cap and nothing else is solving problems in astrophysics on a blackboard...lol.

Of course, his equipment is far more interesting!
Playboy's were definitely better staged and photographed, but we're dealing with amateurs here.
