This unnamed student apparently took part in one of Eakins' nude outings.
Eakins mainly used his art students as models, a fact which limited his prospects. While some of them were what we moderns would call good looking, the few outsiders he used as models are considered more pleasing by some.
Uh...this is what I meant when I said Eakins' looked better than some of the males pictured back then.
