England 1986
The last photo in our Warhol series was taken in an English garden in 1986.
The model looks like he's thinking of jumping in the shallow pond.
I've never been wild about Warhol's work, despite several visits to the Warhol Museum. And to the Warhol Museum in Slovakia. Now I can say the same for his male photography as well. It just doesn't grab me.
Warhol is not one of my favorite photographers, but I post his work because ojthers like it, and many art historians consider it important. He did some paintings and lithographs that I like better than his photos.
I have viewed his works over the years and I can't say I was ever impressed by it. The only book I have is The Warhol Diaries about his personal life, and I find that far more interesting then his artistic achievements.

DeleteSome photographers put out better work than others. I appreciate ANY photographer who gives us pictures of naked men!
ReplyDeleteThat's a balanced point ol view.

ReplyDeleteHis personal life and that of his circle of friends and proteges is indeed more interesting than most of his work.
DeleteWarhol was said to have used Polaroid instant cameras and enjoyed taking portrait photos with Polaroid’s Big Shot camera….:)
ReplyDeleteI remember those Big Shot cameras.
