Domestic scene
I'm not sure what that thing is that Vic Seipke is looking at on top
of the chest of drawers, but he looks very good doing it.
I think the flask is a Pyrex container containing coffee or tea. There is a small burning candle below the flask to keep the liquid warm. And there is a cup and saucer near his left hand.
Looks like Seipke is posed in a room in Juleff’s own residence. Juleff was known to use the furniture showrooms of Hudson’s dept store in Detroit where he worked as portrait photographer. Juleff had after hours access to the great emporium and would have his models meet him there. For context the Hudson dept store was housed in a 25 story building and was one of the largest in the world. Rex in DC

ReplyDeleteThanks. That makes sense.
DeleteGreat lighting here. And a certain charm that I can't quite put my finger on.
ReplyDeleteThe lighting and charm are both noteworthy.
DeleteMy favorite photo of the day. Great body that I prefer not tense. I admit that I also prefer the bodybuilders of the past less exaggerated than today
ReplyDeleteMany of today's bodybuilders look grotesque to me.
DeleteTrue. So true.
