Ledge and disc


Although I can't figure out the significance of the decorated disc,
I like the pose and overall setting of the photo.

  1. I think this motif of the male nude(s) with (often flanking) a large disc is derived from the Italian Renaissance decorative tradition. Michelangelo's famous nudes all around the Sistine ceiling would be the first example that comes to mind.

    1. It seems odd to think of the Sistine Chapel as interior decoration, but that's exactly what it is.
