Eadweard Muybridge - A very early moviemaker

Eadweard Muybridge (1830-1904) was born Edward James Muggeridge, but changed his name to the idiosyncratic Saxon spelling we now use.  He was a pioneer of multiple camera, multi angle photographic motion studies, and some of his 1880's work is considered to be among the very
earliest movies.  You can learn more about Muybridge on Wikipedia here.
Today I am featuring some segments of Muybridge's motion panels along with one GIF.

  1. Thank you for posting more Muybridge. Always an inspiration to me. Looking at these handsome muscular young men over 100 years later, happy to model naked is truly wonderful. I discovered that the last model was still alive when I was born in the early 60's... The spirit of
Thomas Love Latta 1865 to 1961 lives on..
