Both Chuck Renslow of Kris and Etienne liked to use sailors as models and themes. The Chicago area's Great Lakes Naval Training Center is known to have provided some of their models, but others were just made to look like sailors.That's Johnny London in the top bunk, by the way, and I don't know if either of these guys were genuine sailors at the time of the photo..
Re: Johnny - I have two pics of him where he is identified on the photo as "Johnny Lamont" by Kris Studio - I also have 8 pics of a "Larry Meadows" who is either Lamont or his twin brother - I cant find any identifying mark such as a tattoo but they both have fluffy blond hair and a cleft chin plus the same build
