Fifties Friday, Part 1 - Physique Models
We're having a Fifties double feature today, starting with some physique models.
This is George O'Mara from 1959, said to be by AMG, but doesn't look like it to me.
Nice shadow play here, regardless of who snapped it Despite the fact that his grilling is in shadow, his penis is highlighted...neat trick. Could that just be the developing technique?
Great start to this series, Jerry. Mr O'Hara was a really handsome guy. I did a search and saw that you've posted a good range of photos featuring him and noted that he's a favourite of yours too. I can't help with the photographer but I love the photo.
Yes, he's a favorite of mine. (I really like it when people use the search function to find patterns in my work.) I "discovered" Mr. O'Mara when I was assembling photos for a St. Patrick's Day series. He's not only good looking, but had the good fortune to pose for some very talented men.
I often use the search function to see if you've previously posted photos of models that I like the look of and hope to see more of. I was delighted to see a good number of photos of George O'Mara. And apologies to Mr. O'MARA for getting his name wrong in my earlier comment.

ReplyDeleteYes, the effect could be due to developing, but I think the lighting had to be well arranged in the first place for it to work.

I believe this photo is by Kris Studios. O'Mara posed nude for then.
ReplyDeleteThat makes sense.
DeleteJim French took this series of photos (of George O'Mara against the contrasting white backdrop in 1966/1967) when Jim French was still based in NYC.
DeleteThanks. The info that came with the photo didn't really make sense, as I noted in the caption.
DeleteA back view of George O'Mara from the same photo session was featured on an album cover Hand in Glove by The Smiths.

I was gonna suggest Kris Studios as well.
ReplyDeleteLovely. Something a bit from the usual physique pose.
