George Quaintance
I was surprised and pleased to find this interesting 1952 work by George Quaintance on the Galerie au Bonheur website. The veil fabric cover was both a censorship dodge and an artistic element.
A siesta at Rancho Siesta, Quaintance’s quaint casita in Paradise Valley, Arizona. And the casita still stands. :) A special image, sublime in its own way. After Quaintance died, a few of his former models, including Zaro Rossi, broke into the casita to retrieve explicit photos taken during a wild soirée at the casita to protect their and Quaintance’s reputations….:)
How subtle to veil this model with a fabric that is transparent enough to allow us to discover sublime shapes.
ReplyDeleteI agree. He also photographed this model fully nude, and those photos are quite good. This one, however, makes us stop and think.

Yes, I had heard about that clean-up run and even referenced it in Quaintance series a couple of years agon
DeleteI believe the model is Bill Bredlau.
ReplyDeleteThanks! That's him.
