Estonian #448

This is a composite I made from the interwar Estonian body typing studies.
By my best reckoning, this guy stood about  5'3".
Nice things do come in small packages.

  1. I agree on his height. Although it's not stated anywhere, I think the markings on the pole are every 5 centimeters.

  2. The Estonian military worked in collaboration with the anatomical and medical department of Estonia’s National University in Dorpat/Tartu.
Concerns were raised by the military of some recruits being in poor health from tuberculosis, rickets, malnutrition and other ailments.

The university was founded in 1632 as the Academia Gustaviana with faculties of law, medicine, philosophy and theology, and is a noted research university of great repute….:)

    2. Anonymous - Do you have a source for your information about the military working with the university? I have searched for background information about these Estonian photos and found almost nothing. Please email me at unashamedmale@gmail.com. Thank you.
