This is Native American model John Manning and a puppy, photographer unknown, to me at least. Edited to add: After getting an informative comment below, I did some research, and found that this photo is by Pat Milo.
I have pics of him by AMG, Pat Milo, and Dave Martin - he is sitting on a stool that looks like the same one in the Pat Milo pics - there were also two brothers. John and Joe that appear in some AMG pics - John could have posed for other photographers as well
Thanks for the info, jsstrand! Yes, Manning made the rounds of physique photographers, and we can add Bruce of LA to the list based on a search of my files. (If you'd like to see my shots of him by Bruce, use the contact form, and I will send you some.) There might be others, too, because I have several shots of him in my "miscellaneous" file with no attribution.
He had a wife and kids, so maybe? But Manning and his brothers were in their heyday only 60 years ago.
There's also a short film of him, shot in a loincloth once and nude a second time, where he carries a spear, climbs a hill, dances (not a traditional Sioux dance, mind, and there is one war dance where all you wear is a bit of string to keep your glans hidden, but this ain't it), and salutes the sun.
