I have this photo somewhere in my files, along with others of this same man. He has an interesting story, but I just can't quite remember it. I think he lived with some famous older man, or at least was a companion. I'll keep looking, but I have over 200,000 photos, so it may take a while.
ReplyDeleteFound it! His name is Umberto Visbal and he worked as a studio assistant and occasional model for photographer George Platt Lynes in the 1950's, when the photo you posted was made. Lynes nicknamed him "Bolto" because he went back and forth from behind the camera to in front of it. Some sources have him as Humberto instead of Umberto, and some sources say they lived together.
