Charles 1955
Arax of Paris took this photo of Charles Kassapian in 1955.
The model seems to be imitating the pose of the sculpture Hercules the Archer by Antoine Bourdelle, made in 1909. Photos of the original model (a military man) were posted before on this blog.
I would have thought a rather tricky pose. But beautifully done despite the closed eyes.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too, and was hoping you'd confirm by suspicion. Thanks!
DeleteI am, naturally hoping to get to try this one. So similar to the work of Jacques Lalaing.

ReplyDeleteRight! Thank you for pointing that out.
DeleteL'Archer Armenien.
ReplyDeleteNous avons beaucoup d'armeniens en France. C'est un peuple admirable.
The photographer Arax was Armenian himself.
DeleteL'arc a son "golden boy", maintenant il a besoin d'une fleche d'or.
ReplyDeleteBeau physique sur ce beau jeune homme.
