Freddie Kovert's Hollywood silent movie background shows in this photo of Eugene Meyer.
There are very few reclining photos in my Kovert of Hollywood collection,
perhaps because Mr. Kovert took a good deal of inspiration from the East
Coast physique photographers who specialized in bodybuilders.
No oil shortage here, is there? His hair and facial makeup do look like they came right out of a 1920s silent movie. BigDude
ReplyDeleteYep!
DeleteUnusual display of the goods.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that too. It had to be intentional.
DeleteTableau style like in a silent film epic.
ReplyDeleteEugene Meyer was Mr Los Angeles 1947 and also posed for Denfield and Mizer.
KoVert owned his physique studio, while other photographers did the actual work.
KoVert directed the posing of his models and the composition of the photos….:)
Definitely tableau.
DeleteSixtina Chapel. Adam
ReplyDeleteRight!
DeleteLove this. Yes he's very oily, but somehow it works. Er, low hangers, not hanging?
ReplyDeleteLOL, that's better than anything I could come up with.
DeleteMore like and Easter basket?
ReplyDeleteNow that you mention it . . .
