Royale
Basil Clavering of Royale Studio in London took this one in 1950.
A Royale and derrière delight :) Who said the English were homely :( Basil Clavering and his business partner John Parkhurst were the photographers of both Royale and Hussar. Most of the photos were produced at Clavering’s residence in Chelsea, many of their models were British military men of the Royal Army and Navy, and even members of the Royal Guards ! They would find them at local pubs and clubs in London, like the Grenadier in Belgravia and the Golden Lion in Soho, and also the Chelsea Barracks and Hyde Park. When Parkhurst died in 2000 he bequeathed the bulk of their materials to a friend, now the collection is in Tasmania of all places. Tally-ho !...:)
