On a cot
Here we have a chubby guy on a World War II Army surplus cot. Every family I knew
growing up had one of those god-awful things, and nobody could sleep on one.
I sleep on one very similar to that. It didn't take me long to top it with a piece of plywood, an air mattress, and a foam pad. It is small, but so is my bedroom.
God yes, I remember having to lug ours around on trail rides. And then not being able to sleep on the damn thing when I got it where it was supposed to be.
That brings back long forgotten memories! A couple of sleeping bags made it slightly more comfortable, but I was a kid when we had one and less likely to complain! Lol.

ReplyDeleteI didn't know those things were still around. I'm glad you modified it.
DeleteThey were terrible and very heavy, but it's all we had for a very long time.

ReplyDeleteI was a kid, too, and I complained. We didn't have anything as nice as sleeping bags, only worn out blankets.
