Dionysos Triumph
This is a fragement of a Roman piece excavated in 1720. Read more below:
I much prefer the Getty Villa with its Greek and Roman antiquities, sense of intimacy and the availability of reserving a great afternoon tea, as I find the Getty Museum too sprawling. (though I do like the tram ride up the hill to the Getty and it’s collection of fine paintings and furniture :) Anyone on a trip to Los Angeles should see both Getty’s, as they are among the finest museums in California and the Nation. -CA jock
The Huntington Museum and Gardens in San Marino are a must see as well. Visited the sunken Japanese garden on a partly sunny day and a very light rain fell just within the garden with the sun streaming through, it was magical. -CA jock
