Furniture
Even the furniture gallery at the Getty had some fine looking males.
This cabinet was made by Andrew-Charles Boulle around 1667.
Massive furniture of very fine wood parquet work and gold ormolu trimmings. Not to mention the intricate joinery used to keep it all together. Furniture fit for a palace, as only their big rooms and their high ceilings can accommodate such lofty furniture. -CA jock
Boulle, maître en ébénisterie. An artiste of fine furniture making of inlays of metals and tortoiseshell and marquetry of various woods. Another fine furniture maker Ruhlmann utilized the techniques of Boulle. A school in Paris continues his tradition, many students go on to conserve and restore fine furniture.

Good to know the technique goes on.
DeleteThis is an extraordinary piece among the many there. The work that went into this is stunning.
