Our last image from a lesser known photographer is by John Arnt of Seattle. In this case the reason that the artist is little known is that there is so very little of his outstanding work extant.
I have only a few over 20 photos in my entire Arnt collection.
Another excellent and interesting post, Jerry. Thank you. And this last male is fantastic. Any R-rated pictures of him?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, no, even after Brian B sent me a treasure trove of Jon Arnt photos.
DeleteI clicked on John Arnt's name here on VMM, and checked out all your other posts of his work, all of which are stunningly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteToday's selection was a joy to view.

Glad you enjoyed it!

ReplyDeleteOne of a kind Jon Arnt (1906-1982) was known for his sepia toned Gallery of Magnificence, created out of his studio at the Arcade Bldg. 1318 1st Ave in Seattle (1947-mid 60’s). He was well known among the gay bar and club owners in Seattle, and photographed their entertainers. In the mid 60’s he gave up physique photography as the industry became more pornographic and he felt lost its artistry. He then went to work as a coroner in Seattle, his knowledge of the nude body must have helped….:)
Coroner. Now that's something.
