Couldn't have been easy
This hanging pose looks like it couldn't have been easy. I hope our
resident life model David will give us his informed take on it.
Hi Jerry. Thanks for asking my take on this one. These 19th century pose examples for artists tend to fall into two groups. Photographs of sustainable poses that a professional model could hold for sat at least 20 minutes, repeating with breaks. Often assisted by being supported by ropes, slings or studio boxes. Or, as in this case, extreme dynamic poses. His body stretched, giving an excellent view of his torso. But just balanced on his toes. Even, with additional foot support, this one is a "killer.
I get achy just looking at the pose.
ReplyDeleteMe, too!
Deletelovely!
ReplyDeleteI tried this pose hanging off a door just to see if I could do it and the level of comfort. Yes, I could do it, and no it is not comfortable! Lol.
ReplyDeleteYou're braver than I am.
