Like all but one of today's photos, I have no info on this one. The composition and staging are interesting, and I'd like to see more of the photographer's work.
I have a series of photos of that rascal Joe Cali of similar quality using what seems to be the same prop of a striped throw or blanket, used as a hung backdrop and also on a settee. The photographer uses several. One of the images - in poor colour - clearly dates from the very early 1960s or late 1950s. (The throw is purple, red and blue stripes.) The series is marked "photographer unknown", but one image I have seen attributed to "Plato". It's a long shot, but the quality, dating and style being so similar, you might like to start there.
