Ruby, Gold, and Malachite from 1902 is probably my favorite painting by Henry Scott Tuke.
It shows Tuke's outstanding talent for subject, locale, lighting, and composition.
Superb..I'm lucky to be able to see this painting locally in the City of London Guildhall Art Gallery. Perfection..

ReplyDeleteI thought so, too, but it was about 70 years too soon. Could Gilligan's TV outfit have been based on the painting? Stranger things have happened.
