World War II Soldiers in the Showers, Movies and Stills

Today I am posting a mix of movies and still photos of World War II American soldiers showering.  My fellow Hawaii resident and frequent contributor of quality material, Larry K, provided all three of the movies.  We start with December 31, 1943 at the Roman baths near Gafsa, Tunisia.  I have previously posted still photos from the same location and general time.

  2. I love the way these soldiers whilst aware they are being filmed have none of the bashfulness about showing their bits that people nowadays have. Women generally have always been so, but it seems more men are joining them. To be unconcerned about being seen naked is to be free.

I'm from the UK and a few years ago, there was a documentary about the last deep coal mine in England. In it there was a shower scene with unpixelated, un-blurred footage of the miner's private parts. There was even some jokey horseplay from them for the camera. Quite reassuring that at least some men haven't let this type of shyness overtake them.

    1. I have seen clips from that mine documentary, and the men were so good natured and easy about the nudity. Great footage!

  3. Here's the clip for those who want to see what a fine example these men set.

It will be from 2015, so nowhere vintage enough. When it was shown on TV, the episode with the shower scene in was not preceded by a warning wording something like "The following profram contains nudity, parental discretion is advised".

    1. Beautiful! Thanks for posting. I find it interesting that one guy was using Fairy brand washing up liquid on his beard.
