1910
A German file name that translates at "Painted 1910" was attached to this one.
This is just me trying to assess his weight distribution. I suspect there was a support under his right foot. So whilst standing, he would try to transfer as much weight as possible to the right foot to avoid the left leg becoming too tense. He'd need to tense the back of his right thigh to do this. His gaze is probably on a particular point to provide balance. Least, that is what I'd be doing.
Really wonderful and sensitive.
ReplyDeleteIndeed!

ReplyDeleteLOL, it is very realistic.
DeleteDeep in thought. Slightly awkward, with all weight on his left leg. Not easy..
ReplyDeleteI thought this pose might be easy. Shows how little I know.

DeleteThanks for the details. Always interesting!
DeleteThank you. I do go on a bit, LOL. Hopefully enlightening too. My comments, to a certain extent, also indicate the accuracy of these academic works.
