Billy Hill was Mr. Canada of 1954, something I find significant in the context of the inspriration for todays series. The photo is by another Canadian, Alan Stone, a disabled photographer whom Mr. Hill generously assisted in reaching remote photo shoot locations such as this industrial site.
Gotta love those Canadians!
I've seen this entire series of Billy, including a magnificent shot of him with a hardon. He's handsome as hell, and Stone did a splendid job of capturing him on film.
ReplyDeleteAlan Stone does not get the recognition he deserves.
DeleteWow, just wow! I hope to encounter the whole series one day.
DeleteThis was very nice. It wasn't until I was in my 70's that I became aware of so many photographers of naked men, and such a thing had existed since the invention of the camera. I had known about Muybridge, but didn’t know that there were so many others.
ReplyDeleteYes, there's quite a history there.
DeleteA memorable session with a great photographer. And you are right Jerry, this Canuck doesn't get the recognition he rightly deserves. A pioneer in the field. Here is the link to a documentary on him. 1954 was a good year, thanks Jerry!
