Ritter Brothers

This 1935 Lynes photo shows the Ritter brothers (I think) and a piece of corrugated metal.
Bruce of LA later became known for using such a backdrop.  Could he have seen this?
Possibly, but Lynes nudes were not shown during his lifetime.

  1. I'd like to see more of the Ritter Brothers...some frontals if such exist. And any other "brother acts" you know of.

    1. Click the Ritter Brothers label. I think I've posted frontals of them. There were a number of brother acts in physique modeling. Google and blog search functions can help find them.

  2. This looks like the Ritter Brothers, although I'm sure somebody will be able to confirm for sure. Another beautiful photograph by Lynes.

Big Dude - there are lots of frontals of the Ritter Brothers. They certainly weren't shy. Good looking guys with great physiques they were important players in the development of physique photography. Jerry has posted quite a lot of photos of them. Click on the Ritter Brothers label at the side of the page to see them. I promise you won't be disappointed.

  3. The book I looked in says this is The Ritter Brothers from 1933. And the last picture for today will not let me leave a comment, but it is Demus from 1937.

    1. So I was wrong about the date, but right about the models. Thanks! I'll post an update on Demus.
