Man with cane
Picasso paid attention to detail in the academic painting of a man from the rear.
Note the careful shading and shadows, as well as the back of the head.
Lovely. Great back detail. I know many artists tend to avoid back. Also nice slightly lopsided hips due to...yup stabilising the pose. The hand on the hip and use of short pole makes for a stronger stance thereby a longer pose.ReplyDelete
As always, your professional take on this is appreciated, David.Delete
Cool, pleasure. I do hope others try the pose too.Delete
This painting is beautiful. The light and shadow, the glow and feel of flesh, the cruciform composition, are all beautiful.ReplyDelete
I was so taken by the light and body that I didn't even notice the cruciform element. Thanks for making me take another look!Delete
