Ball on the Beach


This is some pretty good stop action photography for 1932.
Gerhard Riebicke was a top professional.

  1. Nice lack of tan lines! And the action shot is remarkable for that era. Riebicke really knew his craft.

  2. Not just any photographer can capture a moving image with that kind of clarity. You need a camera with an incredibly fast shutter speed with the highest quality film and, of course, amazing talent. Still, the model had to do a few takes to insure that they got it right.

    1. Yes, I'm sure several "insurance" takes were required despite Riebicke's obvious skill and access to the best film and cameras.
