Fred

I think this very bushy photo of Fred Orlando was made relatively late in Bruce's career.

  1. Great bush, and just enough fur to pique a man's interest.

    1. You're in good company, Albert. I've even had private messages praising those two.

  3. Ahhhh...my favorite of the five Orlando bros. Along with Freddie, there was Ron Orlando, Frankie Orlando, Tony Mueller and Bill Anthony. Tony and Bill did an AMG film released in the mid 70s. I've never seen it and I'm still looking for photographic evidence.

Frankie Orlando is a mystery. I have nothing on him except a mention he was one of the Orlando brothers. I think there may have been a mistake by (brace yourself) Bob Mizer. It looks like he gave Freddie the name "Frankie Carleone" (not Orlando) in one his films, but it was a special order film and I've never seen it to confirm. I think this is why Freddie and Frankie may be the same guy.

More on Freddie. I have a few photos of Freddie from a couple of sessions with Kensington Road and I know they were done after Bruce passed on. Maybe Kurt Dietrick in the late 70s. I also have a photo from AMG were he wrestled with Lonewolf Bronson in 1982/83 and Freddie looked very buff. That may have been his last session at AMG. I read in one of the PP magazines Freddie got into trouble with Mizer and was subsequently banned from the studio.

Ron did a couple of films with AMG and I've seen photos of him, but can't find them in the labyrinth I call "archives". Ron did a lot of work at Old Reliable throughout the 1980s and was called "Dirty Ron". He had a big mustache and sometimes a beard. He knew how to perform to the camera -- and his audience -- often saying he preferred the company of older gentlemen and what they could to to him. I think he was looking for new clients. Still, there was something about him that I found charming and I enjoyed watching his performances at OR.

Sorry for the novel, but maybe someone can share a tidbit they learned about one of the brothers.
