Kovert of Hollywood
Doing another Kovert of Hollywood series today, starting with this impressive photo of David DeBorges. The light, the pose, and the oil combing to create something sculptural.
I would agree, his bush appears off center and not just because he is turning sideways. Everything seems to curve left. It’s height does seem in proportion to its width. I wouldn’t let that be an issue (if you know what I mean).
Absolutely stunning photo. Mr. DeBorges is magnificent. I don't think I've come across him before. I'm not a fan of heavy oiling but I agree with you, Jerry, that it works well here. My favourite in an excellent series.
Remarkable, isn't it? He could almost be a classical statue. Could his bush have been manscaped a bit?
ReplyDeleteRarely done at the time, but not impossible.

DeleteWow..that oiling..
ReplyDeleteI don't always like heavy oiling, but it works here.
DeleteAnd me. Here more silky than glossy.

I have four other photos of Mr. D., all of which appear to be from the same Kovert session. I'll get them on here when I can.
