Man and horse

Another Muybridge set of a blacksmith/farrier in action.

  1. I had not known that Muybridge did photos of people at work. Cool! This trio seems to be well-focused and well-lighted.

    1. Muybridge did a great series on a carpenter, so this isn't the only vocational themed work he did. I think there might have been others, too.

  2. Jerry, on the left, the male looks like he's pouched, or his penis was covered by a drawn-on pouch. I know Muybridge did not usually pouch his males. What do you make of that photo on the left?

    1. It's a mystery to me. The few times Muybridge used pouches that I know of, they were white. This guy may have had thick pubic hair and a darkish penis . . . or a really small one that disappeared into the thatch.
