Today's theme is the middle aged men who enjoyed the nudist lifestyle in the 1960s.
The movement was so big back then that the camps and resorts had administrative
offices. This guy just dug something out of the filing cabinet. Nudist clubs were
always handing out trophies, and there's one in the background here.
Nice clear shot of what we all like! He's not exactly Adonis, but he'll do!
ReplyDeleteYou remind us of one of the uplifting elements of the nudist movement, it's lack of insistence on conforming to the usual "beauty" standards. I've read that it was the photographers, and not the membership/leadership, that were more selective in what they chose to put forward. Hence, we would seem to have a skewed sample in our photographic record.
DeleteWonderful. Sadly I missed the golden age of naturist clubs.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorites.
DeleteI love the, I just happen to be nude thing. So long as you're warm enough, are clothes really needed.
DeleteI enjoy photos of average people naked. This is nice.
ReplyDeleteIt's worth repeating that the nudist movement of that era wasn't obsessed with youth or perfection.
DeleteThat is Mel Hocker, the owner and manager of Oakdale Nudist Ranch, now closed.
ReplyDeleteHe does look quite official. Thanks!
