Hopper
Our last bit of 20th Century art for today is a 1919 drawing
by Edward Hopper that has a very modern, virtually anatomical feel.
I ran a search and came up with this drawing being by E Hopper. The site is Whitney Museum of American Art, and dated 1917-20. So either you're both right, or both wrong. LOL. But the style of this drawing is markedly different than his usual works.
This is very interesting, designer Thierry Mugler used this drawing to give him inspiration for his anatomical designs, which can be seen in his work in the 1990's.
From what I've seen of Hopper's works, this is radically different.
ReplyDeleteYes, it left me wondering if it was mislabeled.
DeleteInteresting study of symmetry.

Thanks, 2W! The Whitney is a pretty reliable source.
