Here's another example of serving pieces done up as high art. These two tankards are from 1629 and by a duo of Germans, ivory carver Georg Petel and goldsmith Andreas Wickert. The Bacchanalian scene is Classic, and my photos do not do the ivory carving justice. Detail below:
