One of the amazing things about Eadweard Muybridge's pioneering motion study work was the way he used multiple sets of cameras to capture the same moving models from two, three, or even four different directions. Today I'm keeping it simple and starting with some dual views. All are the same model caught at the same instant. This man walking down a ramp is from Plate 113.
And yes, I think he's smoking a cigarette while walking.
Oh, wonderful Jerry. I suspect, quite a few of us like a bit of Muybridge.
ReplyDeleteHis work always gets a good response, and there's a lot of it to enjoy.
DeleteI am always happy to see Muybridge's works. Thanks, Jerry!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome!
DeleteI, too, like Muybridge's photographs of naked people. I don't know why he included the smoking, but at least the fellow is naked.
ReplyDeleteThe man was ahead of his time.
DeletePerhaps a pipe would have been more appropriate.
