    1. Actually, this is one of several photos in my collection that were on-board pageants to entertain the sailors. Line crossings have a harsher edge to them, something like a (fortunately now banned) fraterntity initiation.

    2. Wish I could tell them how much they are entertaining me decades later. Wonder what the guy on the far right used as a lei. He would still be my favorite even without the lei.
