When I saw this photo of a statue in front of the Temple of Concordia, I thought, "Oh they
found that statue buried nearby and set it up." Well, it is actually a modern piece by Polish
sculptor Igor Mitoraj. I guess the full size package should have been the giveaway.
He IS decidedly more male than the "Classics." Big Dude

ReplyDeleteClever juxtaposition in the Valley of the Temples near Agrigento in Sicily, an hommage to the ancients by Mitoraj.
That and that 1930s face
ReplyDeleteA really nice selection, the history behind them has always intrigued me. This one in particular I have only seen photos of it lying on it's side. I might have to go and see for myself! Lol. Thanks Jerry.
