New Guinea I


The location for the mass bath was Nadzab Air Strip in New Guinea, 1943.
If you look closely there's a money shot in the left background.

    The New Guinea campaign was one of the most arduous campaigns in WW2, lasting from 1942 til the very end of the war in 1945. Australia had to fight it, as Japan saw it as a gateway to seize Australia, thus the Aussie’s bore the brunt and responsibility of fighting in New Guinea. Most casualties on both sides were the result of disease, in this little known chapter of WW2.

    1. True. The Americans provided some support later on, but the Aussies bore the brunt of the combat.
