Dan Lurie posed for an unknown photographer in this photo dated 1935.
Dan went on to become a gym owner and fitness guru.
Dan was born in 1923, lived to age 90, had a successful Dan Lurie Barbell Company, and later owned 8 gyms in New York and one in Miami Beach. At age 19 he was second overall in the 1942 AAU Mr. America coReagan in the White House.
If the photo if Dan Kyrie was taken in 1935, and he came second in the Mr America competition in 1942 aged 19, then he would be 12 years old in the 1935 photo.
I agree. The photo is probably from at least 1940, although I remember reading somewhere that he started his bodybuilding as a teenager. No way he could have looked like that at age 12!
Very nicely folded reclining pose.

ReplyDeleteThis photo had to be later than 1935 as he definitely was born in 1923 ..probably more like early 1940s
