This literally looks like a page from some collector's scrapbook.
I agree Tom is the epitome of (natural) maleness. But, what on earth is going on with his body hair? His left forearm looks totally shaved and his lower left leg has "stubble"! Weird.
It is weird, but there's a possible explanation. Some American football players during that era had to shave various points on their bodies because athletic trainers used adhesive tape during games to treat or prevent injuries. If they didn't shave, removing the tape after a game would also painfully remove most of the hair. I even have posted locker room photos of this being done.
