Yes, they apparently did this rather modern looking
One can never get enough of seeing this handsome man completely naked from both the front and behind! And those are the classic bicep curls that he's doing. In the privacy of my own home and in the heat of the summer I do them naked too. Wish that he was my workout partner...
Hi, Piet! That's a very good question. The only Muybridge models known to have been identified are five University of Pennsylvania student athletes. They were identified because they were photographed by other photographers at about the same time. (I suspect that several of the unidentified models were also students, but were not able to be cross referenced. Others, however, do not look like students at all, including today's model.) Those other pictures look like what we would now call yearbook photos, but I'm not sure that Penn had one at that time. The guy who matched them up to their Muybridge pics found them in the university's photo collection. I ran a series featuring the students on my old tumblr, and maybe I should do it again. It's been a long time.

ReplyDeleteI find him quite attractive, too.
DeleteThis fellow really is attractive. Thanks for publishing him again. Did Muybridge leave records of his models that might lead to identification?

DeletePlease do run your earlier tumblr posts again.
DeleteOK, but it may take a few weeks.
DeleteThank you...I'll have a dig around in my Muybridge stuff, might find some more IDs.
