Is it just me, or does the head on this beautifully drawn male body simply not fit?  I'm not saying some man couldn't have actually looked that way, but it looks like two different men to me.

  1. Not just you. I'm wondering, considering the shape of the legs, if dwarfism might be a possibility here. Lovely drawing regardless. Loving this series, by the way. I check in with you every morning with my coffee.

    1. I hadn't thought of dwarfism, but you could be right. Thanks for the compliment!

    2. Yes, dwarfism would probably explain the proportions. Perhaps looking at his rather fine physique he was part of a acrobatic troupe?

    3. More than a few of the academic models showed up again and again in the work of that era, but I've never seen this guy anywhere else. He's certainly built to be an acrobat.

  2. The head is much too large for the body. But dwarfism wouldn’t usually result in the perfect proportions of the body itself. ”Proportionate Dwarfism” is also a thing, but that big head rules that out. Of course all rules are meant to be broken.

    1. Right. A dwarf with such proportions would indeed be rare, but not totally unheard of.
